I know that on Mr Odds streams he can see long loads, but it varies from mission to mission and it gets worse as his campaign progresses.

It could be filesystem issues with AV or security software, it could be a corrupt install or it could be mods. I did buy a small SSD specificaly for xcom2 though.
I dont see it myself, by the time Ive read the text, looked at the mission picture and listed to bradford chat, the button pops up and Its good to go. I have no idea whats causeing the slow loading on PC. They also had to cut down on some of the visuals for performance reasons. The console game does suffer from long load times, no mods and also reduced character pool functionality. Then a 3rd party came along and did the console port for both platforms.

Firaxis focused on PC development of the game for a long time. Hmmm, wasnt XCom2 first a PC only game and was ported later to consoles? Yes it was.
